OMG! Yes please! Turkey bacon on the burgers are fantastic! Service is quick and the food is always hot and fresh! Love the vintage drive thru. People are always make it fun to order!

This is probably one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. The one I ordered was the double meat cheeseburger all the way with the french fries and drink. It has been many years since I've tasted a burger as good as this burger. The fries were so nice and crispy on the outside. They were fried to perfection. So if you're looking for that burger and fry memory that you have when you were a kid, this is the place that you will definitely find it.

The last Yelp review I wrote was over a year ago. I came to Bases today and my experience has awakened me to come back just to write this review. If you're from Texas City, there is a good chance that you have heard of Bases. It's a hometown establishment that has a very loyal following amidst all of the fast food chains there are nowadays. Though, to be honest I never really understood the hype. I've tried it once or twice in the past when I was in high school. At best, it seemed like a solid burger and solid fries. I was naive... that is until today. I decided to go to Bases today since I was back in town. There was a good wait, about 10-15 minutes. I wasn't in a rush so that was not a problem for me. I'm a simple guy so I chose to get their Home Run Combo - 1/4 lb burger with all the fix-ins, healthy portion of fries, and a drink. I got the burger with cheese and the total came out to be just over $9. Not bad in my opinion. Service was nice and straightforward. This time when I unwrapped my burger, something was different. I can't really put my finger on what it was. It was just different. That's when I took a bite. It had finally made sense why Bases is so loved in Texas City. The burger simply tastes like a good ol' reliable hometown burger. The bun was nice and soft, the veggies & condiments were a nice compliment, and the beef patty itself, despite being 1/4 lb, held up to everything. Maybe my taste buds were just immature before, but this time I'm very glad I decided to choose Bases as my lunch option. Whoever cooked and assembled that burger on Thursday, December 7th 2023 at 11:54 AM - you are doing the Lord's work. Then there's the fries. Usually, I wouldn't write much about french fries. I mean there really is not much. But there was something different about them this time too. They were so crispy on the outside, yet so soft on the inside. When you pair it with the ketchup, boy oh boy that really does it. After I was done, I honestly had to take 30-45 minutes to compose myself. This meal was that good. If you're in Texas City, do yourself a favor and come to Bases. Hopefully you'll understand why this place is spoken so highly in the community.

The burgers were delicious and cheap! A bit on small side. It's an old fashioned drive through, and we found a park nearby to picnic at. It did take fairly long to get our orders and we had ordered 2 diet cokes, 1 sprite, 1 rootbeer and 1 lemonade and they gave us 4 root beers. When we told them we were missing a lemonade or sprite, they gave us another root beer. Food ***** service***
